First of all.. Luc lives in Tyler TX, which is only about 30 minutes from me, just an interesting tidbit of info. Luc has held his infertility a secret all of his life. With his cousin Deke determined not to start a family, his only home in raising a child with his bloodline is to hope that Deke gets someone pregnant during one of their famous menages. When Deke starts falling for Kimber in book two, he is determined to make a life that includes all three of them, and children. When Kimber finds out she is pregnant, he is the only one who is thrilled. Deke, and Kimber finally work out their problems, and start planning a life together. What Luc didn't consider is that he wouldn't be a part of that life. His dreams of being a father now depend on finding a woman who will be a good mother, and who is ok with adoption. Allysa, owner of the well known strip club Sexy Sirens, is sure that she and Luc share something more than great sex. He is attracted to her without a doubt, but knows that she won't fit in to the future he has planned. Luc agreed to be a guest chef at her new restaurant, but Alyssa has other plans that don't involve cooking. Despite his attraction, and her seduction, Luc is determined to stay away from Alyssa. When someone starts threatening her, he doesn't want to look too close to the protective, and possessive feelings he has towards her.

Alyssa ran away at fifteen, when her step brother assaulted her, and her mother didn't believe her. She wasn't old enough to get a job, so had to turn tricks to feed herself. While on a bus out of town, a lady told her that stripping is almost as lucrative, and a lot safer. She has been stripping since. Luc is judgmental about Alyssa in the beginning, and never realizes that Alyssa put herself through college, and has a masters degree. She owns the club, and is opening a restaurant, so that she can leave her old lifestyle behind. They both love one another, but Luc is determined to have his white picket fence, and Alyssa doesn't fit in that life. She is crushed when she opens her heart to him, and he refuses it. Several weeks after being separated, both of them are miserable. When she comes to East Texas to tell him she is pregnant, he decides to go along with her story, knowing that he cant be the father. He asks her to marry him, secretly thrilled to be given the opportunity to have a child of his own. He doesn't believe the child is his, because he is sterile, no matter how many times she tells him it can only be his. When Alyssa finds out from Kimber accidentally that Luc is sterile, she knows that he married her thinking the child wasn't his, and that is the only reason he is with her. She kicks him out, and sends divorce papers. Luc realizes, as all men do, too late that he can't live without her. He drives to Lafayette to win her back, only to discover her step brother has not only found her, but has plans to kill her. They get away safely, and live happily ever after.
