Cracked Up to Be by Khristine Hvam, Courtney Summers

3.0

I really disliked this book at first but wound up liking it because the main character was just so darn damaged that you had to sympathize. If I had read this in high school though, I don’t know if it would have been good or not though, just because then you are so much more receptive to characters. I could have seen myself saying, “oh, she is so damaged, and JUST LIKE ME,” even if I was totally fine. And then I would have wandered around being mopey for a few weeks.

Ah, high school.
