Higher-brow than Dan Brown's later works, this series opener focuses on the possibility that Judas was not a traitor and sacrificed himself for Jesus.
It's chock full of historical info and the characters are an interesting mix. Be warned that the author likes abrupt endings! It is definitely the first book in a series because the last page leaves you dangling off a cliff.
