A new and modern fairy tale full of magic and wonder. I would put the story somewhere between Young Adult and Middle Grade, but recommend it for readers of all ages who like magical realism, animal people, spirits, and heartfelt stories about friendship and making the world a better place. I loved the world building and the Lipan Apache culture and mythology that influenced it, as well as the undertone in the real world about climate change and capitalism.

I mostly listened to the audiobook, which was superb! It feels like a story that should be told rather than read.
