The Fixed Stars by Molly Wizenberg

challenging emotional reflective medium-paced

3.75

It was tough reading about the emotional struggle Molly dealt with as she re-evaluated her marriage and sexuality. It was also comforting to read about her determination to find comfort in a tough situation and push through to a situation better suited to her. I felt like her journey to define her sexuality is not over by the end of the book, but self discovery is a lifelong experience. I did wish sheโ€™d done more with the star metaphor instead of just dropping it at the end (granted, it was a beautiful way to end). I felt like she was almost dismissive of lesbians and sapphic relationships for most of the book even after realizing she might be lesbian.

๐Ÿ“š The gist ๐Ÿ“š: Molly recounts the story of a time when she fell in love with a woman. This chance encounter signals the begining of shifts in her love life that impact her marriage, and shifts in her perception of her identity and sexuality.
