I really enjoyed The Haunting of Hill House and will probably want to read more Shirley Jackson after this. Every part of the text seems well-considered and deliberately constructed. At one point I reread a huge chunk to make sure I was following every beat. I was absolutely fascinated by the hints of what characters other than Eleanor experienced in the house and would love to reread the book paying very close attention to them.
