The Space Between is a beautiful book featuring two main characters and how their very different lives intertwine. I found I was able to relate to both of the main characters despite being of a different era and culture. I struggled to put this book down as I kept wanting to find out what happens next. Even though the characters are fictional, the story gives a great insight into what life would have been like in New Zealand when settlers first arrived. Lauren Keenan has shown both sides of each culture (Maori & English) with respect and relatability. I would love a sequel to this book.
