The author paints such a vivid picture of the horrifying events in the mc’s life and their impact. This story just grabbed my heart from the beginning and kept twisting the knife over and over throughout the book. I felt the abandonment, grief, fear, anger, loss with the character. Such a relevant read to better understand the impacts of genocide in Canada. Beautiful.
