The Unexpected Guest by Charles Osborne, Agatha Christie
4.0
As in many Agatha Christie's plays and novels, everyone has a motive for committing the murder.
What starts as a seemingly simple and straightforward plot becomes much more complex with twists and turns aplenty. It's a very intriguing story with so many possible scenarios.
I very much enjoyed this novelised play, which does not involve any of Agatha Christie's usual sleuths.
Charles Osborne does a great job at novelising the play. I could not tell this had been done by someone else other than Agatha Christie.
This is a play I'd love to see if it ever came on stage. I'm not surprised it did so well in theatres, though not as well as The Mousetrap, which I saw a few years ago.
