I have a lot of conflicting thoughts that I need to summarize…
1) I absolutely loved the sections where Pamela talks about her non-profit work and her activism. I wish that more celebrities used their platforms for this kind of work.
2)I could not stand the way she excused male behavior in her life. To each their own of course but her lack of criticism for the men that hurt her and others was jarring for me considering the forgiveness implied by her words.
Overall, this book was really well written and I think parts of Pamela’s story are really powerful. She captures her own spirit in a way that does her justice and shines a light on her humanity. Docked off a star-ish because I wished for her to reflect more deeply on her privileges in life as a star and I wish there had been some more discussion around the harmful men she encounters. But, it’s her book, not mine! I’m still a fan and love her honesty, mission, and nature.
