I can see the reviews were quite polarised for this one, but I loved it. I like a lot of what I have read by Louise Erdrich, and while dystopia is not what I have read the most, I thought this one worked quite well. The book is written as a notebook, by Cedar, a 26 year old Native woman who was adopted by a white family and, as she is now pregnant, reconnects with her biological family while the world is changing and evolution is reversing. It isn't an easy book to summarise but I liked the tone and the characters, and I found the format really easy to follow - which is not always the case with a dystopia - and engaging.
