I have mixed reviews on this one! On one hand, I enjoyed:
❤️ the gothic vibe
❤️ the historic setting
❤️ the uniqueness of plot
❤️ the murder-mystery aspect
However, I couldn’t get over the fact that this man.. thing.. knew Signa as a literal baby. I mean, I know there’s a huge immortal vs mortal thing that goes on in fantasy, but I’ve yet to read a book where the immortal met the mortal he later shags as a baby… and watches her grow up? And alters things in her life to ensure she’ll end up with him later?? Idk. It felt weird?
I tried to get past it, though. Besides this big ick that I got, I did enjoy the storyline and all the things I mentioned above, and I’d be interested in finishing out the series.
