The Diary of a Young Girl
by Anne Frank, Otto H. Frank, Mirjam Pressler
WOW wow wow. The abrupt ending of the diary fully got me. I knew the end was nearing, but still nothing prepares you for the realisation that all of Anne’s dreams, hopes and future plans discussed would never be possible. The after word further cements the devastation.
I was also shocked by her maturity at only 14/15. As a diary writer since 15 myself, Anne’s perspective and voice is astounding for her age.
Long and tedious read, but a very important one.
