Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy

So so so good! I’m a big fan of classics and this is my favorite yet! It’s dramatic, it’s romantic, it’s ahead of it’s time. I would consider Bathsheba one of the biggest feminists (sans Jane Austen heroines) in period-time novels. And the wonderful loyal Gabriel Oak just keeps you wishing for the best even when times are the worst. Loved it. I’d read it again.
