Prodigal Summer
by Barbara Kingsolver
I had this on my to-read list for at least a year. It never called to me. I don't know why I decided today's the day, but it was a great decision.
Zebulon County itself is a very important character in this book. Its citizens, both human and animal, were fascinating--I found myself rooting for Lusa. Kingsolver's writing about nature is beautiful, leaving me longing to be outside more. Really outside, not my backyard.
