Well, that was bad. Where do I begin?
- Bad formatting/editing. I'm not sure if it was the specific edition I got from KU, but a large chunk was formatted in weird 1-2 sentence paragraphs with an empty line between, which just reads weird. Also, typos. Not bad enough to be a deal breaker, but not good.
- Random inconsistencies.
He's unbuttoning her pants, then on the next page he's lifting her skirt, then he's pulling her pants down. Or she recalls Linda's brittle smile, then she says they were never introduced, then talks to Sarah about how Linda used to try to overshadow her too. - The plot and characters are just stupid.
She talks about how she avoided this life and changed her name for nearly a decade, but she had stayed with Luca knowing what is family was? Mom sniffed out that she was pregnant but not that she was a Petrov? Dante finds out who she is after a quick search and immediately goes to the Abramovic house, tells Galina Eva's alive under the name Eva Smith, and then gets pissed a few chapters later when the Russians come knocking saying they know who she is. Like yeah, dude, you TOLD them...? Seriously, he's an idiot. - So much predictability. Everything is so predictable you can see it a mile away. Except maybe the idiotic crap mentioned in my previous point.
Surprise pregnancy. I just hate that damn trope. And let's be honest, it wasn't a surprise--especially when there is zero mention of contraception.
What I liked..... Honestly, I've got nothing. This was so bad.
