TITLE: Doppelbanger
GENRE: Rom-Com
AUTHOR:  Heather M. Orgeron
TROPE: Single Dad, widow romance
TYPE: Standalone Series (Cajun Girls Book 2)
POV: Dual POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 5

What I liked:
✔️ The Banter
✔️ The Angst
✔️ A couple of scenes made me LOL

What I didn’t like:
❌ A little too much baby talk from Willow
❌ Some of the embarrassing moments were too over-the-top
❌ The strip club scene

Doppelbanger can be read as a stand-alone; I did not read the first book in the series but got into the story without any issues. I am all over the place regarding my feelings on the book. There were a couple of moments when I laughed; I also loved the angst around the time Gina stepped in as a female figure helping Jeffrey’s oldest daughter. Yet, at other times, I felt the story was too over the top; for example, Jeffrey’s youngest daughter Willow’s character, with all the baby talk, was one of them, and some embarrassing scenes involved the main characters. I did enjoy some of the banter relating to those cringey-worthy scenes, though. I did finish the book, but I don’t see this as a candidate for a book I will reread in the future. For these reasons, I am giving a rating of 3/ 5 stars.
