Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Other Stories by John Tenniel, Lewis Carroll

emotional lighthearted relaxing slow-paced

3.0

An absolute brick of a book. The Wonderland stories didn't even take up half the book. I enjoyed more of the rest than I tbought. Sylvie and Bruno, the Snark, Phantasmagoria. There was a lot of letters and other such things that didn't quite get my actual interest.
And God. There's real math in here. Definitely wasn't about that. BUT that section with the math problems he had posed to the public was a bit delightful because he answered back to the people who sent in their answers and I had a moment of deep warmth for humans as they had names like Dinah Mite and Mad Hatter. And like. Humans have always been like that.
And less problematic shit than I feared there would be. There was some but I was bracing for more since this is all from the 1800s.
