Spellbook of the Lost and Found by Moïra Fowley-Doyle

5.0

TW: mentions of sexual assault, death, abuse,

I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was really engaging and discusses themes of grief and loss really well without over-doing it or overshadowing the plot of the novel. It weaved the idea of grief and how it's a process and is overwhelming and you're not entirely sure of how to process it or what to do with it — especially at such young ages.

I loved the characters, I thought they were all done super well and grew and learned to kind of accept the darkest parts of themselves and love each other in spite of it.

GAY!! Loved the LGBT rep in the book. If that wasn't obvious.

There's an interesting twist that I kind saw, but didn't. There's also a weird... implied incest situation, not in the sense that something happened, but in the sense that people had crushes on people and didn't know...

Overall, I really enjoyed it and it was a really fun read and you can count on me to pick up more of Moira Fowley-Doyle's works!
