So, a book based off of cutesy toys doesn't seem like a great idea but Bennett makes it work here. She tells an interesting story of a different DC Universe during the 40's in which certain DC heroines are needed to win the war. The book was darker than I expected, even given the timeframe, due to the characters but it was enjoyable. I wished there was better cohesion between chapters as it felt disjointed at times. There were many artists throughout the book with varying results. Overall, a more enjoyable book than I expected but I also wanted more from it.
