The Vegetarian by Han Kang

4.0

"The Vegetarian" by Han Kang is a literary enigma, a book that left me with a lot of thoughts and theories. I had thought this book would be completely different, more along the lines of “tender is the flesh” once I got over that I really enjoyed how unique yet engrossing this story really was.

This book is not for everyone, and I'd recommend it to those who loved works like "Bunny" or "The Memory Police." It's not a story I think everyone needs to read, but at the same time I want everyone to read it so we can dive into its complexities together and piece together the absolute puzzle of a story.

This is a book that's both strange and profound, teetering on the edge of disturbing and creepy without fully delving into a story of horror or thrills. The book felt fractured which left me both puzzled and intrigued, eager to uncover more.
I’d say this book is a literary enigma that challenges, confounds, and ultimately, fascinates.
