We want because we’re wanting . Both senses of the word. The lacking and the longing, all rolled into one. The more you find yourself wanting, the more you want.

You know that feeling when an author manages to put into words the feelings that have been haunting you for years but you could never really express it to your therapist? That is something I felt constantly while reading this book. I will read anything my Coco Mellors simply because I love the writing and the emotional rollercoaster she takes the reader on.

On the other hand, I had a lot of issues with the glamorisation of
depression, self-harm (yes, that includes alcoholism and drug abuse) and suicide
. No, it is not artistic or quirky, please can we stop doing that?
