I think this book is advertised as a romance, but the romance takes a back-seat to the main characters internal conflict, which I actually liked but it could be misleading if you pick this book up looking for a rom-com.

That being said, I loved the relationship between the sisters, and I love that Neale realized that a boyfriend can’t save her, she has to fix herself first. Her sisters are strong female characters and their witty banter is amazing! I really connected to that, as someone with two female sisters as well. It was spot on.

There was some really good diversity in the book, but it felt like it was added as an after thought rather than intentionally. I didn’t even realize the Anthony was Black until almost halfway into the book!

Overall this was a good quick read, but it didn’t have anything that made it stand out from other rom-com books out there.
