"I should have gone through life half awake if you'd had the decency to leave me alone"
Reading this book in the midst of a period of turbulence and confusion in regards to my own sexuality was certainly an affecting and at times illuminating experience. To read a novel written in the 1910s that shows queer love as something powerful and beautiful, and that ends with such an overwhelming feeling of reckless optimism, is such a wonderful thing. Im so glad to have finally read this book after meaning to for so long. It made me feel all that I had hoped and then more.
