Aw poor rich white guy doesnt get what he wants!
This was so fucking stupid. Is the story somewhat interesting? For sure. But I just can’t find it in me to feel remotely bad for Gatsby or Nick.
Gatsby was made out to be this “very moral man” and yet— he was fully having an affair with a married woman. That he knew for a single summer. Five years ago. Who he had sex with once and immediately felt as though they were married?? And we’re just meant to excuse this because Nick has a bro crush on him?
Nick is supposed to be an unjudging man of integrity and truth, when he fully lied to Daisy on numerous occasions.
This is what happens when men don’t have accountability.
God, this pissed me off so much.
I understand and respect people who claim this as a favorite, but I would not recommend this one.
