I enjoyed Radiance as a simple read. It wasn't anything astounding but it captured my attention enough for the short span of the book. The romance between the main two characters is cute and a great friends-to-lovers execution and will no doubt be thoroughly enjoyed by many.
I've never read a "fantasy romance" which is more romance than fantasy, and I think I prefer the typical more fantasy with side romances more than this formula. Draven is actually a quite skilled writer and is much superior to many "new adult" type writers I have previously read. I think the main struggle I had with this book is being jarred by the fantasy elements because it is written in such a typical romance novel way. These struggles may just be due, however, to the fact that I am new to this genre.
I will probably continue with the series... who knows?
