Tease Me Once by W. Winters
4.0
✨ARC Review✨
“The Club is his world. I feel that same pull to him that I did on the playground all those years ago. It’s a dangerous, forbidden curiosity. We’re not kids anymore, and I know better than to trust men like him. Especially men with power.”
This is not your average romantic fairy tale. It is dark, forbidden, and dangerous, and it is good! “The Club” owned by Declan Cross is a mainstay for the wealthy sinners. It’s walls hold business deals, contracts, secrets, drinks at the bar, entertainment on the stage, and the indulgence of sex and other fantasies in the rooms on the lowest level of the club.
Tease Me Once is the first book of the Shame On You series, and be prepared for a cliffhanger, it came out of nowhere! I was immersed and wanting more!
What I Loved:
-Dual POV (Declan & Braelynn)
-the color coding of the dresses and their meanings for the waitresses/entertainment of the club
-the longing connection Braelynn felt towards Declan when they were in high school, they have a history
-both main characters are very broken, they have their own problems and have both experienced loss and hurt in the past, in different ways. All of these connections brings them together in some cryptic ways
The only reason this wasn’t five stars for me was because it felt like some parts were too closely related to the Fifty Shades books. There are an abundance of dominance, submission scenes, and it works in this book because of how it shapes the characters. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this first book, and I am very excited for the next one to see how the story unfolds!
⚠️CW/TW: murder, mention of death of a parent, domestic violence, violence, extreme sexual content⚠️
