Comeback by Rebecca Jenshak

5.0

I LOVE THIS SERIES. Seriously, I've read almost every Rebecca Jenshak book, and these ones are on another level. Something I appreciate about Rebecca's books is her ability to give us characters that are layered, realistic, and emotionally intelligent. They make mistakes, but they eventually own them and do better. This series is some of the best contemporary romance I've ever read.

"A twinge of excitement manages to work its way in despite my anxiety. I have a brother. I still can’t quite believe it. Brogan Six—the Maverick’s star tight end who charmed an entire nation last year during his rookie season—is my brother."

First, let's start with how adorable Brogan is with Sabrina. I loved their interactions in this book as they are getting to know each other. Seeing Brogan being so excited about having a sister was just so heartwarming. Plus, seeing Brogan and London together was amazing!

“'What is the problem?' It’s a loaded question. Archer has always had a problem with me. He doesn’t trust me. I’m not sure the exact reason, but it’s been obvious since the first time I met him."

That brings us to Archer and Brogan's friendship that is also THE BEST. I seriously loved seeing Archer in Playbook, and I was so excited to get his story. We get to see Sabrina and Archer's first interaction, and let's just say it was not a good one. I couldn't wait to see him realize he was wrong about her. Watching it all unfold was just so satisfying.

“I’m sorry if I didn’t sign all that correctly. It’s been a while since I signed with anyone.” My gut twists with the sincerity splashed on her face and the words that are nearly perfect–her signing of it and what she said.

The way Sabrina is just so nice while working on building a whole new life, with her own family difficulties going on just made Archer realizing he was wrong so much better. They share the sweetest moments. I enjoyed seeing how his hearing loss played out in different situations. I feel like Rebecca did a great job of having these two show a lot of care around their medical limitations. And the spicy scenes with these elements were AMAZING. I won't spoil it for you, because it was perfect.

As you can tell, I sincerely enjoyed this one--the characters, all the different elements, and the romance. I highly recommend reading Burnout, Playbook, and Comeback asap!!
