Avery was very standoffish at the start which was at odds with not wanting to rock the boat early on, she also thinks she doesn't show pain or emotion but we can tell from other peoples perspectives that she doesn't hide anything well. Sometimes she's meek and sometimes she's strong which makes her a walking conundrum. It's explained away a bit by her borderline personality disorder.
Kinda love triangle-y in this book, slow burn ish but also fast 🤷
The audiobook for this is fantastic, each character done by different narrators, done duet style where the narrator speaks all that characters lines (I specify because not all dual narration does this).
