I feel like I have read a lot of retellings/homages to Agatha Christie's books this year 😅 Completely unintentionally.
I understand this is a YA novel, but Lord.. I reallllly disliked how even when Minnie was absolutely terrible to Meg, Meg still didn't accept that she wasn't a good friend and went along with it anyway. Have a little spine. Yet, Meg's supposedly so brilliant to have put all these clues together but can't figure out that her friend isn't so great? It's annoying. Also, why is it a shock to them that the murders keep happening in the ways that destroyed Claire? Like why were they shocked (pun not intended) when Kiki got electrocuted when she screwed over Claire doing an electrical project in physics? Um, duhhhh.
This is great if you logistically don't really think about anything too far in depth - and perhaps that is what a majority of teenage readers would do. Maybe I'm just too old or analytical for this one. It was still a good read, but there were the aforementioned things that bothered me about it.
