What a sequel! Again, really fast paced and intense. Just like the first book, the last chapter had me gasping and open mouthed. I liked the new characters they introduced and how it revealed just enough to suggest where the next book is going. Mrs Coulter is as terrifying as ever and the Spectres were equally so if not more so. It felt like higher stakes this time and the world building was great - I can only imagine what Pullman's notes at home look like. Once again, I'm annoyed at myself for not reading this sooner!
