3 stars to Sign Here, a novel take on the deal with the devil trope.

This was a pretty fun take on hell (which seems full of bureaucracy and red tape) and deals with the devil (what if they were generational?) that while kind of fun, also didn't quite work for me. It did make for a good buddy read, lots to discuss!
*
Peyote is a demon that just needs one more member of the Harrison family to make a deal with him and he'll get a promotion, so he sets his sights on the family while they are on vacation. This family seems great on the outside, but is kind of a hot mess behind closed doors and secrets will come out in an explosive denouement.
*
One of the issues I had is that I just didn't like most of the characters except Mickie. The way Mickie is entranced by her new friend Ruth rang very true for the teenage experience of friendship obsession. Lily's ennui just bothered me, Silas creeped me out and as much as I was entertained by Cal, her whole story felt like a separate book; it threw the pacing off for me.
*
For everything I didn't like, it still made for a fun read and I think would make a great mini series. It left me wanting more.
