Overly long with not much happening in the first half,

the death of Bee's father was the only part that really made me feel anything and that was only due to knowing a family in the same situation recently and reliving the pain of that father's death as I read.

I'm usually a quick reader but this book really dragged and took me ages to read, which was really unfortunate as I loved the premise and was really excited to read it initially!
