This book had an interesting concept: it portrayed a place that one could physically access the same place either twenty years in the future or twenty years in the best just but traveling to the next valley. The main character, Odile, sees an elderly couple come to the present. She recognizes them, and realizes they are coming back to see their son while he’s still alive. The rest of the book all revolves around the result of his death and the fact that she saw the visitors from a different time.
To be honest, I couldn’t quite wrap my head around the way the time travel worked, nor could I keep all the government rules and plans straight.
