Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

2.0

I tried this book when I was in high school and couldn't get past 100 pages. I had no clue who was narrating (it still took me a bit because I didn't realize the primary narrator was Ellen recounting the story to Mr. Lockwood). It was fine, and I did stay up until 2:00am to finish the last 40 pages, so I clearly was invested enough to not abandon it like last time.

Everyone is such a horrible person. It made it hard for me to want any of the characters to be happy or get what they want. Because of who I am, I like to have at least 1 character who is a good person. It doesn't even have to be the protagonist (who I would wager is Heathcliff).

I got so confused by the names, so, thank god, my copy had a family tree complete with marriage years. I would have been significantly more confused if it wasn't included.
