Mr. Magic was incredibly engaging right from the start. The characters were diverse, likable, and easy to root for, and I loved not knowing whether I was in a thriller, a magical realism story, or something in between. The 80s and 90s kid nostalgia hit just right, and the weirdness only made it more fun. If you’re into slightly surreal, deeply unique stories, this one totally stands out—it’s one of the most original books I read this year.
