Well, that was fantastic. Yee managed to perfectly capture the ATLA world while being able to write a more mature, dark story. At first I was a little put off by an ATLA story not told through a visual medium, but writing it as a novel allowed for a more serious and bloody narrative. I loved Kyoshi and how her character was so different from Aang and Korra while still feeling like an Avatar story. I stayed up till 3am two nights in a row reading it and I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. There are a few nitpicky things that dropped it down a half-star, but that's only being reaaaallly nitpicky.
