Another Sanderson banger!!! Johnny is a wizard who wakes up in a field, with no memory, burning book chunks, and some dudes chasing him. In an effort to figure out where he is, who he is, or even when he is, Johnny starts to read some of the book chunks as he travels to safety. In the book ruins he discovers that he is in an alternate dimension of medieval Europe. The handbook tells of how portals came to be, how you can own one, and how to best utilize your time. As Johnny struggles to figure out who he is and why he came here, he bands together with the locals to take down a crime ring that is disrupting the area. This is a delightful, engaging, and thoughtful tale of discovering your true talents and what real friends are.
