3 ⭐️ sadly not my fav

My least favorite Bridgerton book so far. It started off with Cinderella vibes with Sophia being the orphaned child of her deceased father under the “care” of her hateful step mom. Sophia attends a masked ball she’s not supposed to be at and of course falls for Benedict Bridgerton and leaves behind only a glove for him to sulk after for three years.

Soon after it derives from the Cinderella story vibes and seems to be a pretty normal Bridgerton book UNTIL there are some events that occur in this particular book that I was not prepared for, including a r**e scene - which becomes the main plot twist of Sophia then becoming a maid in the Bridgerton household. Overall, I just didn’t care for the origin of the story I guess. I thought the ending was pretty ridiculous as well with Sophia facing her step mom’s accusations of stealing and potentially being hanged for it. Idk it was just a pretty dark story & I was just NOT expecting it 😂😂. It felt like it went from dark sad story, light okay story, back to dark sad story & so on & so on.

Still gonna read the rest of the series because Colin and Penelope!?!?! also Eloise getting her happy ending?! Yes, please!!
