This is really a serial series with a furthering of the story in each and no major cliffhanger. It is a little frustrating as we want more, we want the romance that is hinted at, we want to know that they will shut down the other 2 queens from being able to enslave others, only we get how her knowledge of herself and her companies, the ones she worries about as thralls. This is all done as they fight and make alliances with competing factions.

SpoilerAs they pick up more information on the queen that keeps taking thralls and enslaving them, Heather/Silver discovers that her thralls aren’t as subservient as she thought they had to be to her. This is good but makes it so she is not always in charge. I think this happened because she needed not to be their masters and they figure this out and took the autonomy. She still fights her attraction to one but I think he already has a lot of autonomy, only his protectiveness is left as a impediment but she hasn’t figured this out yet.

So I really liked this furthering of the story though I might wait until it is much further along as it just didn’t feel like enough.
