I like these books. The writing is solid and the mysteries complex enough to be intriguing. But after 8 books, the Harry/Cleo thing has become tiresome. Not only do we not have any real idea why Cleo is opposed to a relationship (other than that she doesn’t want to marry…so does she plan to live a celibate life??), but the persistent man and reluctant woman giving mixed signals trope is worn out and kind of gross.
