“Does truth have a moral?”

“Knowledge isn't always good for you.”

“This is the trouble with all happiness - all of it is built on top of something men want.”

I loved how fast-paced this book was. I listened to the audiobook during my commute over the last two days and it was such a great change of pace between larger, more epic fantasies. I love how Riordan writes for middle grade. The story is fun, action-packed and hilarious. I really love the little funny moments. I also really love how episodic the story was. I felt the same way about the first book. It's so fun to see the monsters and gods from Greek mythology.

I think this is absolutely a book kids could still connect with today. As an adult, I definitely recommend reading it without too many breaks so you don't have to struggle to get back into it. The writing is not meant for adults, obviously, so reading it in 4 sittings made it easy and quick to finish. If you enjoyed a certain wizarding world as a kid and are looking for something to take it's place in your heart (because the author is absolute trash) this has definitely filled a little bit of that void.
