I knew this would be sad, I didn't expect that I would be crying so much at the end.

Eric is trying to come to terms with the death of his best friend a year ago, and he's not doing very well. He's withdrawing inside his own mind to try to cope. He's making up scenarios, trying to at least pretend that he's the person he wants to be.

One day one of those scenarios walks up and sits beside him in a cafe and tries to get him to open up.

This is a heartbreaking look at the grief of one young person. It's tough enough to try figuring out who you are as a teenager, and the complex feelings you might have for your friends, but adding grief (already devastating to cope with) into it makes it so much more difficult.
