The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict, Victoria Christopher Murray
While I am glad that the main author reached out to a Black woman author with some history of passing in her own family, to help with this book, much of the voice in the family dialogues still didn't ring true to me, coming from a DC family which had been part of the Black elites, and has several members who have been lost to our family due to passing for white. Nevertheless, it is a very vital and interesting set of stories and needed.
