I thought, I have lost my love for middle grade books. It was quite upsetting that some of my recent mg books were very unsatisfactory. So it was a relief to find out that my love for adventure stories with young protagonists still remains strong.
This book was such a gem. I loved the camaraderie among the four friends, loved the sense of adventure and whimsy and absolutely adored the icy setting. It ended on kind of a cliff hanger too. So I cannot wait to pick up the 2nd book in the series.
