Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

Loved the concept and the stories but after the middle of the book, the stories started to get repetitive, or the pattern started to show - mother/daughter or great mother… I was also surprised which story was featured in the very end, i would expect Amma to have “the last word.” Lastly, the age of characters was at times hard to follow, maybe with older characters in particular, since some characters thought to be in their 80s or 90s were doing things not many real people can do in that age.
