the author were not kidding when they said that this book was going to be dark because it dives straight into that nitty gritty part of it the moment you flip through the first page. maybe it's all the dark romance i read back in the day, but i actually enjoyed this one. i also do not think that this is the darkest book i have ever read, to be honest.

what i liked about this book is that it did not make any silly excuse for killian's behaviors. he is a psychopath through and through and there was no changing that unhinged side of him. he does have a "normal" side of course but ultimately that other part of him is still there. he is capable of caring for people, just on his own way.

also i loved glyndon. she was the one who made me stay until the end. what i enjoyed about her was the simple fact that she could hold her own against killian. if she was a weak heroine, i would have dnf'ed this book, to be honest. but no, she was strong and kept killian on his toes, which killian deserved lol. no one should make it so easy for that mf.
