Dear Charlie,
While the narration delves into the intricacies of friendship, love life, and self-discovery… the book kind of left an uncomfortable feeling in my stomach and made me rethink my five stars. the way the letters were written there were times where…the main character felt a bit too, for the lack of better words, spineless. he had no solid opinions and often discouraged himself from speaking his truth, but he eventually overcame that. another thing was the age gap (18 and 15) between the mc and sam…making it quite challenging for me to fully immerse myself in their little “love story” if you can even call it as such. However, i still love this book, it was nothing short of enchanting. the charaxters were wonderfully nuanced and the exploration of mental health and substance abyse adds depth to the story. for anyone wanting conpany as they navigate through the journey of growing up, this is a must read for you.
