Well, darn, I had high hopes for this. I've had nothing but bad, bad luck with thriller-ish books for ages and this one was decently written, and kept my interest without making me roll my eyes. But I knew the proof in the pudding was going to be the ending, and sadly, it didn't deliver. The first twist got me, second twist I correctly guessed but that was okay, but then I think it just fizzled out in a dreary way. And when I started to mull it all over, the plot holes began to open up, the biggest one being

the fake cops..I mean why on earth would Melia involve other people in her plot when they could spill the beans? It was completely unnecessary and made no sense. And these actors didn't even bother choosing names for their bogus detectives until they actually arrived at the coffee place?

I am willing to give this author another try, but we'll see.
