So the thing that Demeter told Penny in the dunes wasn’t that scandalous. I was hoping for a much bigger surprise. I liked that this book focused more on the children than the adults and represented them well. 
It was very somber obviously. How Demeter’s parents didn’t know about her drinking problem is ridiculous. Some people are oblivious. Hated Demeter as a whole.
